Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar Cantt organised their 5th Convocation held yesterday at Ashoka Hall of the College. Lt Gen JS Cheema, General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps (Patron, Army College of Nursing) was the Chief Guest.

Brig MJ Jacob, Commandant, Military Hospital, Jalandhar Cantt (Director, Army College of Nursing) in his welcome address extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Senior Officers of Army, parents and the recipients of Degrees. Varinderpal Kaur, Officiating Principal in her report highlighted the achievements of the graduates in academic excellence and other co-curricular activities.

Army College of Nursing at Jalandhar Cantt was established in Aug 2005 as a welfare institution by Army for imparting quality nursing education to the female wards of serving and retired Army personnel at an affordable cost. The students of the college are performing exceedingly well both in academics and co-curricular activities. The college has already carved a niche for itself professionally as well as in extra co-curricular activities.

Lt Gen JS Cheema awarded the degrees to the graduates of batches which passed out in 2013 & 2014 and prizes to the meritorious students. The Chief Guest in his address congratulated the graduates for their hard work and dedication in achieving the goals set and for their contribution towards enriching the academic and community environment of the campus. The Chief Guest further advised the graduates to keep pace with the ongoing technological changes and exhorted them to achieve excellence in the nursing field. He further stressed that the staff and the students must continue to strive relentlessly to achieve the institute’s mission and contribute substantially to the fulfillment of the healthcare needs of the people and wished the young graduates success in their future endeavors.
