Admission Notice-IIT Ropar Invites Applications for Admission to Ph.D 2016
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar is inviting applications for admission to regular Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes in Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Centre for Biomedical Engineering for 1st Semester of the academic session 2016.
Ph.D in Chemistry Programme
The eligible candidates would have masters or equivalent degree in Chemistry/ Bio-Chemistry/ Materials Science and Technology/ Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Physics or relevant research areas with first class (6.5 grade out of 10) or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
Ph.D in Humanities and Social Sciences Programme
The eligible candidates would have master’s or equivalent degree in Cognitive Science, English Literature, Linguistics, Psychology, or related discipline with 55% (or 6.0 grade out of 10).
Civil Engineering Programme
The eligible candidates would have bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering followed by a master’s degree in an appropriate area with a consistently good academic record.
Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering Programme
The eligible candidates would have master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a master’s degree by Research in Engineering/ Technology and must have obtained 60% marks (or 6.5 grade out of 10)(55% for SC/ST) in master’s.
Application can be made online.
- The eligible candidates must submit an application fee of Rs. 200/-(Rs. 100 for SC/ST) by bank online transfer.
The candidates would be selected on the basis of the written test followed by an interview. The candidates would not be called for the Ph.D written test merely because they fulfil the above mentioned qualifications.
- Online application need to be submitted latest by: Friday, April 15, 2016.
- Date of display of shortlisted candidates for the written test: Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
- Entrance exam would be held on: Monday, May 09, 2016 to Tuesday, May 24, 2016.
