The AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) has given the nod for the increase of engineering seats at Devang Patel Institute of Advanced Technology and Research (DEPSTAR) of Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT). A total number of 120 seats have been approved in two engineering courses, i.e., Computer engineering (60 seats) and Computer Science and Engineering (60 seats) offered by DEPSTAR.

In 2017, CHARUSAT had set up DEPSTAR which perceived patronage from Nadia-based Devang Patel.
Initially, DEPSTAR offered UG engineering courses in Computer Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering branches with an intake of 60 students each. Now, the intake has been increased from 60 to 120 in these courses.
