The state technical university is already considering supporting 2500 students in helping them transform their ideas into successful businesses.

AKTU to Transform Students' Ideas into Start-ups

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), which was formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University, has established a center for innovation and incubation of start-ups for students with realistic ideas.

As part of this initiative, the University will provide support to the students of all the colleges affiliated to the varsity whose ideas get shortlisted. AKTU plans to provide the crucial initial investment to help launch the start-up.

The state technical university is already considering supporting 2500 students in helping them transform their ideas into successful businesses. Students who wish to explore self-employment opportunities will also be supported by the varsity.

AKTU assistant registrar Ranjeet Singh made all these announcements during a press conference at Raja Balwant Singh (RBS) Management Technical Campus, Khandari farm. He also said that the ideas' viability will be tested by a team of experts. Students will also be provided adequate consultancy to turn their ideas into flourishing ventures.

The university is planning to implement the same from the academic session 2019-20.

Another important announcement that has been made by the University is that it is going to launch seven new programmes, such Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) and a dual degree-5 year programme in B.Tech plus M.Tech.

In another important development, the university will, for the first time, organise a state-level entrance exam for candidates seeking admission in post graduate programmes in pharmacy, management, engineering and technology as well as architecture.

While taking about the entrance exam, Virendra Pathak, Director of AKTU's Institute of Design, said that the exam will be conducted on 21st April 2019, and the results for the same will be announced in the last week of May 2019.

The state university has also set up an industry interface cell to provide students assistance with job placements.
