Bihar’s Magadh Super 30 Helps Young Students secure Seats in NITs

Bihar’s Magadh Super 30 Helps Young Students secure Seats in NITs

Students from Bihar’s Maoist-hit areas have been cracking entrance exam for the admission to prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Thanks to the initiative taken by Super 30 in Magadh. Former Director General of Police (DGP) in Bihar, Mr. Abhayanand founded the Magadh Super 30 in 2008. Earlier, he started the institute with only 13 students, including two girls.

So far, Magadh Super 30 has been successful in sending 29 students to IITs, 40 to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and six students to Maritime University Chennai. The coaching classes for the students are conducted in a rented building ‘Dharmasala’ at Dighi Talab.

A second-year student at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Sikkim, Soni Reshmi expressed that it was her dream to become a software engineer. It was due to the guidance of her teachers at Magadh Super 30, she was able to secure admission in NIT Sikkim. Soni was brought up at Barwadi, a Maoist-hit area. After clearing an entrance test, she was able to secure admission in Magadh Super 30 in 2014. Her aim is to secure a better job and support her family.

Another student, Ashwin Kumar who hailed from a Maoist-hit area where government’s scope for development is limited managed to get admission in NIT Jamshedpur with the support of Magadh Super 30. Similarly, Vishwesh Bhatt who graduated from NIT Sikkim in 2016 secured a job in Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. He thanked Magadh Super 30, that had helped him to realise the dream.

Founder of Magadh Super 30, Mr. Abhayanand disclosed that the institute has four teachers from Gaya. The selection of the students is based on an entrance examination and interview. The institute is able to get financial assistance from people and different organisations, he added.
