Participating in the first convocation ceremony of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Hyderabad, Vice-Chancellor of NMIMS, Dr. Rajan Saxena indicated that the major challenge that is being faced by management education in the current scenario is adopting technology-enabled pedagogy with the concept of faculty re-learning. The colleges need to create simulated environment now, he added.
Dr. Saxena pointed that the best managers must be developed within the college and should play a significant role in creating the simulated environment of the industry. The students need to change themselves with the time, as the management education gets demanding. The faculty should also re-orient themselves in the various approaches related to teaching-learning methods at par with the changing technology.

The b-schools should work towards creating an entrepreneurship mindset among the students. The students must be aware of the perception that entrepreneurs create and should understand that successful managers can only be responsible for sustaining the value. Today, the students need to focus on emerging areas of management that include big data and its applicability to business decisions.
Speaking about the performance of NMIMS Hyderabad in NIRF Rankings 2017, Dr. Saxena mentioned that the institute achieved top rank in the B-School category.

Giving details about the final placements, Dr. Saxena indicated that a total number of 67 companies made offers to 81 students appearing for final placements this year. Around 82% of companies were first-time recruiters and the average package offered was Rs. 9 lakh per annum.
As a part of convocation ceremony of NMIMS, a total number of 74 students were awarded diplomas in PGDM and 17 students were awarded Executive PGDM-MPE degrees.
