With the Delhi University admissions going on, the highest number of applications in the extracurricular activity (ECA) in DU colleges is for the National Cadet Corps (NCC). However, the competition is relatively high for the students this year as only 15 colleges affiliated to Delhi University have posted requirements for NCC cadets this academic session. Apart from NCC, debate and dance are other two ECA activities that have received quite a large number of applications.
According to the DU official, around 900 seats are available this year under the ECA category and more than 17,000 students have applied for the same. Over 3,000 students have applied for a seat on the basis of their performance in the NCC and 2,495 students have applied for the admissions through dance.

For admissions through the ECA quota in Delhi University colleges, the preliminary trials will start from today i.e. 14th June and continue till 21st June. As per the regulations, the university reserves up to 5% seats in the ECA category and for the students, the relaxation in the cut-off lists is up to 15%.

Once the students qualify for the trials, they are required to sign an undertaking stating that they will perform for the college and university during the entire academic session.
