Delhi University Sports Quota Admission: New Rules to be Implemented

Delhi University Sports Quota Admission: New Rules to be Implemented

The University of Delhi has decided to introduce a few changes for the admissions under sports quota. These new changes in the admission process will be implemented for the DU Admissions 2018. As per the new criteria, candidates who possess specific skills will be considered eligible for the admission to various courses offered by Delhi University under sports quota.

The officials of DU explained that the colleges affiliated to DU would be issuing specific requirements with respect to vacancies under sports quota and the shortlisting of candidates for the admission will be based on these specific requirements. For example, if any college needs a lifter to its volleyball team, aspirants possessing skills in volleyball will be shortlisted for the admission.

The Admission Committee of Delhi University has given its nod for implementing the new criteria to shortlist the candidates for the admissions. Now, it is the responsibility of DU colleges to send their requirements and vacancies along with the number of positions available in their teams of the varsity. Based on the information submitted by the colleges, DU will streamline the admission process and the admission will be granted to the candidates who qualify the criteria instead of offering admission to extra players.

During the admission process, if there is a tie between the two students, a student with highest marks in DU selection trails will be given admission.

Candidates aspiring for the admission to DU under sports quota must note that DU colleges offer 5% seats under extracurricular activities and sports quota. While applying for DU selection trails 2018, the candidates must specify their skills set.
