DU Admissions 2017: Nearly 1.25 Lakh Candidates Register for UG Courses in a Week

  • So far, around 1.25 lakh candidates registered for various UG programmes at DU.
  • A total number of 38,015 students from Delhi registered for various courses. Uttar Pradesh is in the second place with 23,302 applications followed by Haryana with 13,168 registrations.
DU Admissions 2017: Nearly 1.25 Lakh Candidates Register for UG Courses in a Week

So far, around 1.25 lakh candidates have registered for various UG programmes at Delhi University. The online registrations for UG courses began on May 22, 2017. Delhi University offers around 54,000 seats in various courses.

According to sources, 1,24,876 candidates have registered in a week. Many who registered for DU’s UG courses are from Delhi. Following is the number of applications received from different states or cities:

The registrations will close on June 12, 2017. As announced earlier, the varsity will release the first cut-off list of June 20, 2017. This year, there are chances for the seventh and eighth cut-off list depending on the number of seats vacant.

This year, B.A. English (Hons) and B.Com have received maximum applications. The demand for Commerce course has been increasing. On the other hand, the varsity decided to conduct entrance examination for specific UG courses, and the registrations for the same will begin from May 31, 2017. This year, the varsity will not conduct online entrance examination for the admission to Ph.D. M.Phil, and PG courses.
