IIM-A Students Write A Book on Product Development - Aim to Get it Included in the Course

A group of students from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) have written a book on product management for students in India. The book is a project initiated by Arun Nandewal, a student enrolled in the Post Graduate Programme - Master of Business Administration (MBA) at IIM-A. 20 other students from Arun's batch have also been involved in the writing of this book.

According to the group, the need for writing this book arose when on searching for a relevant textbook for the product management course only a single one was available. To combat this lack of information and make it easier for beginner students to find relevant information, the group decided to come up with a textbook themselves.

The project began in June 2019 and the group has come with a 125-page manuscript carrying the titled 'Futuristic Outlook to Product Management Industry Guide 2019'. The team has gone all the way in the production of this book and ensured that the book contains information about the major and latest developments in the product management field. From e-commerce websites and cab aggregators to MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games) and blockchain technology, the group has left no stone unturned to ensure that their book is informative and multi-dimensional.

Nandewal and his team has big plans for the book and they are trying to get it included in the course at IIM-A. They are getting the book reviewed by their peers and also taking the help of their professors. The group also expects that the batches that come after them will keep the book updated every year in order to ensure that the content is kept fresh and updated.

Once published, the group claims that the book will be able to help all of the students seeking to make a career in the field of product management. An engineering-related field, product management is a vastly relevant field in today's tech-savvy era and product managers are in high demand in every part of the world. Product Managers have a challenging work of understanding the needs of the users and providing effective solutions to meet those needs while making the best use of the company's available resources. This is why they command high salaries and can look forward to excellent growth in the future.
