The 4th edition of Pan IIM World Management Conference has commenced on Tuesday, 13 December 2016 at IIM Ahmedabad. The two-day conference is organised by all the IIMs and supported by the Human Resource Development Ministry.

Previous editions of the conference were held in the following IIMs:
- IIM Goa in 2013
- IIM Kozhikode in 2014
- IIM Indore in 2015
The theme of this year conference is 'India: Towards Better Governance'. The theme revolves around India's economic development that is dependent on the performance of government controlled public enterprises and the government. The conference is to be attended by visionaries from different fields like -
- Top corporate honchos
- Business leaders
- Government representatives
- Academicians and top faculty from the IIMs
The forum offers an excellent opportunity for researchers, academicians, policy makers, practitioners, and thought leaders to interchange ideas and help in fostering collaboration.

The concept note of the conference stated that today's leaders of public enterprises are under great pressure to provide quality services and perform well with fewer resources. Rapid industrialisation, unprecedented growth of population, and urbanisation have created a demand for interventions of the government at a level which was never seen before.
