The talent of IITians will now not be restricted to the academia as 50 alumni from the premier engineering institutes have decided to step into politics. These alumni are from the different Indian Institutes of Technologies across the country and their aim is to fight for the rights of individuals from the underprivileged backgrounds, especially from SC, ST and OBC communities.
This group of 50 IITians is awaiting the approval of the Election Commission to begin their political journey. The political group will be called "Bahujan Azad Party". The leader of the group is Naveen Kumar who graduated in 2015 from IIT Delhi.

Naveen talked about his new political group and said that they are a total of 50 individuals from different IITs who have quit their jobs to form this party. He added that they have started their fieldwork and are awaiting the commission’s approval.
The group comprises members mostly from the OBC, SC and ST community and their aim is to ensure that students from these groups receive proper education and equal opportunities. The members of the group said that backward classes have been facing discrimination in terms of employment and education.

The young leader also said that they do not want to rush things, therefore they will not be targeting the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Naveen further added that Bahujan Azad Party will be targeting the 2020 Bihar assembly elections and will further target the next Lok Sabha polls.
