IIT Delhi Hosts Axalta Campus Talk

One of the leading global suppliers of liquid and powder coatings, Axalta has organised its first campus talk in India. IIT Delhi has been selected as the venue to host the campus talk organised by Axalta, which inaugurated its new coating manufacturing plant in Gujarat recently. Over 150 students and professors from Department of Chemical Engineering – IIT Delhi attended the ‘Campus Talk’.

The event was hosted by Chairman of Axalta, Mr. Charles Shaver. With an aim to inspire the students on the complementary role of technology and sustainability for the next generation, Mr. Charles Shaver delivered a talk on ‘Technology Drives a Sustainable Future: Yours’.

Expressing his views on the theme, Mr. Charles Shaver pointed that Axalta is a good facilitator to unite stakeholders in India and across the globe to achieve a common goal of sustainability. Discovering advanced coating technologies with a sustainable perspective is possible only through continuous commitment to R&D and innovation. The next generation leaders and professors should have an idea of sustainable practices in the field and Axalta is working to achieve the motives, he explained.

The Campus Talk organised by Axalta at IIT Delhi kicks off the STEM Education Programme of Axalta India at par with Axalta’s global initiative that aims to create awareness and educate local communities (academics) on industry trends and technology related to coatings. On the other hand, the initiative also promotes sustainable practices in the respective field.

Under the STEM Education Programme, Axalta will associate with universities on scholarships, cooperative programmes and internships. The major focus will be on training the students on coating technologies and sustainability in India.
