IIT Roorkee is conducting a summer internship programme in online mode. More than 65 students from prestigious institutes have joined the programme.
IIT Roorkee will host summer internship programme 2020 SPARK in online mode which will be attended by interns from remote places. About 15,000 applications were received by the institutes for online internship programme among which over 65 interns have joined the programme. Most of the interns who have joined the programme are from prestigious institutes in India like NITs and other IITs.
The interns who have joined the programme will be offered a fellowship amount of Rs. 2,500 per week.

Ajit K Chaturvedi, the director of IIT Roorkee appreciated the SPARK team for making such an arrangement during the lockdown and offering the internship online mode when many of the internship programmes offered by other academic institutes have been cancelled across the country.
The purpose of the internship is to provide research-based exposure to some of the best students across the country. 17 participating departments of the institute will provide theoretical and computational research-based teaching to students in various discipline like Science, Social science, Engineering and Management.

Not only IIT Roorkee but also most of the technical institutes have been implementing online internships or work from home internships so that the placements are not affected due to the ongoing situation in India. On the other hand, AICTE has also advised all technical institutes to provide work from home internships for students.
