Important instructions regarding Slide after JoSAA Seat Allotment 2025: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2025 has commenced its JoSAA Counselling Process and announced the seat allotment on June 14, 2025. Candidates who have received offers from participating institutes now have the option to make decisions regarding their admissions from June 14 to June 18, 2025 (till 5 PM), and candidates who have been allotted a seat now have to make an important decision: whether to Freeze, Float, or Slide. According to JoSAA guidelines, Slide is meant for candidates who are satisfied with the institute allotted in the current round but are looking forward to an upgrade in their preferred academic program within that same institute. To avail of the Slide option, candidates must first accept the allotted seat by paying the seat acceptance fee through the official portal – josaa.nic.in.

Below, the detailed instructions regarding Slide after JoSAA Seat Allotment 2025 are provided.

• Select the Slide option during online reporting to indicate willingness to upgrade to a higher-preferred program in the same institute.

• Pay the seat acceptance fee (INR 30,000 for general candidates, INR 15,000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates) if not already paid in earlier rounds.

• Upload required documents for verification, including JEE Main/Advanced admit card, Class 12 mark sheet, and category certificate (if applicable).

• If a higher-preferred program is allotted, the current seat is automatically upgraded, and the previous seat is released.

• The Slide option is available in all rounds except the final round of JoSAA counselling.

• Candidates can switch between Slide and Float or from Slide to Freeze during any round except the last. Once Freeze is chosen, Slide cannot be selected again.

• Failure to pay the seat acceptance fee or upload documents by the deadline results in seat cancellation and exclusion from further rounds.

• After the final round, candidates must report to the allotted institute to complete admission formalities, including fee payment and document submission
