Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna engaged in a four day celebration from 11th February, 2016 to 14th February, 2016. The celebrations witnessed the observation of the 31st Foundation day on 12th February, convocation on 13th February followed by cultural events and research paper presentation by doctors from across the country and outside. The inauguration of the Institute day celebration was done by Mr. Tej Pratap Yadav, the Health Minister of Bihar.
The IGIMS hospital was established in the year 1983, whereas the regular courses started only in the year 2011. The degrees would be conferred by Prof. (Dr.) M.C Mishra , the Director of AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr. G.K Mishra, the Director of AIIMS - Patna would also be present as the guest of honour at the convocation, on Saturday. Sixty five students will be awarded with gold medal while thirty one students will be given degree certificates on the convocation day.
