Mumbai-based popular b-school - Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) has filled all 120 seats in MBA courses. No student from outside the Maharashtra state has been granted admission at the premier b-school. Admissions have been done basis MAH-CET 2018.

JBIMS Admissions Conclude, No Student from Outside Maharashtra Granted Seat

Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Sciences (JBIMS) Mumbai has been successful in filling all the seats in MBA course for the academic session 2018-19. Surprisingly, JBIMS has only enrolled students from the state of Maharashtra in the MBA course this year. No candidate from other parts of the country was granted admission in JBIMS Mumbai this year. JBIMS took part in Common Admission Process (CAP) conducted by DTE (Directorate of Technical Education) to fill up MBA seats.

JBIMS has the authority to fill 15% seats in MBA course under all-India quota. However, the updated vacancy list released by DTE indicates that all the seats have been offered to Maharashtra state students and the institute has closed admissions for Round 2 and Round 3 CAP.

As far as other popular B-Schools in Maharashtra are concerned, KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research has offered 5 seats in MBA course under All-India Quota (AIQ) while Prin. LN Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research made offers to 18 students under the AIQ.

Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research & Entrepreneurship Education and Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research offered 9 seats each under AIQ in the MBA course.

It seems like JBIMS has given preference to candidates who cleared MAH-CET for the admission to MBA/ MMS course.

In 2017, JBIMS informed DTE Maharashtra that it would opt out of Common Admission Process and admit students as per its own admission rules. However, DTE did not allow the institute to introduce independent admission process.
