With a very less gap between this year's and next year's JEE Main exam and MHRD's decision to rationalise the CBSE syllabus, the 2021 JEE Main aspirants have been asking this question a lot lately - Will the syllabus for JEE Main 2021 reduced?

Uncertainty over JEE Main 2021 Syllabus

What will be the syllabus for JEE Main 2021 is one question that is giving all the engineering aspirants who wish to take the exam in the upcoming year sleepless nights already. However, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi mentioned that JEE Main 2021 will be based on the reduced syllabus of CBSE. Almost 30% of syllabus has been reduced for CBSE, and JEE Main 2021 aspirants can start preparing as per the revised syllabus. The official syllabus for JEE Main 2021 will be released soon.

JEE Main 2021 Expected New Syllabus, Expected Deleted Topics List

Recently, MHRD has asked the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to reduce the syllabus for class IXth to XIIth by 30% to minimise the course load. However, the decision will not impact the core concepts which was revealed by a tweet from the HRD minister Mr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. With the CBSE syllabus being rationalised, it is now highly expected that the syllabus for the JEE Main 2021 will also be reduced.

In the Indian education system, April has always remained one of the most important months for engineering students especially as a series of engineering entrance exams are conducted. The JEE Main April session exam is one of the most important entrance exams for Engineering aspirants in the country which was postponed owing to the spread of COVID-19 in India. This gave the students more time to prepare for the JEE Main 2020 exam. However, the students are wondering as to whether the syllabus for JEE Main 2021 will be reduced or not.

According to the Engineering experts at CollegeDekho, it seems highly unlikely that NTA will omit important chapters or topics from the existing syllabus for JEE Main 2021 exam. From the perspective of an exam conducting body, it is a more viable option to keep the JEE Main 2021 syllabus almost similar instead of trimming and truncating it which might create ruckus among the JEE Main 2021 aspirants especially knowing that they won’t be able to join physical preparatory sessions and most of their preparations have to be done online.

However, the CollegeDekho experts are not completely ruling out the possibility of a trimmed JEE Main 2021 syllabus which will only comprise of those topics that carry the maximum weightage. The experts for the moment suggest the 2021 JEE Main aspirants to start preparing for the exam at the earliest to give themselves a good chance to crack the exam with the help of the syllabus that has been prescribed for the 2020 JEE Main exam.
