One of the students had to contact his relative working for a media house to know his JKBOSE Class Xth score. Internet connectivity has been abrupt since 05 August 2019.
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Secondary Education (JKBOSE) announced the annual class Xth examination on 09th January 2020 amidst internet shutdown in Kashmir. The result for the annual class Xth examination, which was conducted in the month of October, is yet to be accessed by the students due to poor internet connection prevalent across the state. The valley has been facing major internet connection crisis since the first week of August month.
According to a senior official of JKBOSE, around 74.79% of the total students who appeared in the exam have managed to secure the minimum passing marks. “Out of the total 65,393 students who took the exam in spite of the restrictions imposed following the abrogation of provisions of Article 370 in October, 48,905 students could clear the exam,” said the JKBOSE official.

The students are resorting to methods, which are unheard of, to know about their class Xth result. Some even had to contact their relatives residing in other states to know about their class Xth result. However, the majority of the student population who took the class Xth exam are still in oblivion regarding their mark sheet and result.

The J&K officials have also taken some measures to assist the students of the valley. Printed gazettes adding up to 300 to 400 have been already distributed to the schools located in Srinagar. The Dehradun-based Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) ran 60 helpline number on the day of result to help the students. It is expected to increase the number of helpline numbers to assist the class XIIth students when their result is declared in a few days.
