An Air Monitoring Station will come up at Lucknow University soon. The university has received an air quality monitoring device from the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) on November 9, 2016. The instrument will help the varsity to record real-time date of atmospheric pollution. The instrument has a PM Analyser which will enable finding out the concentration of PM 2.5 & PM 10, air pollutants that are responsible for making Lucknow air poisonous.
The device will be installed under the supervision of Prof. Dhruv Sen Singh. He explained that the air quality could be monitored round the clock with the help of the device. It would provide real-time and precise data about the air quality through measuring the presence of particulate matter and other pollutants like Sulphur and Carbon Dioxide.
He further added that the instrument would be a great help to teachers and students who want to conduct research in the field of atmospheric pollution.
Nowadays, it has been becoming tough to measure the air pollution as it is increasing day by day. Hence, these kinds of instruments would help to measure the air pollutants in the atmosphere and take necessary remedies to regulate the pollution.
