Acing the international UG entrance exam – SAT, Shubh Agrawal of Lucknow has set an example for his fellow students. Shubh is a Class 11 student and has scored 1590 marks out of 1600 on Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) becoming the highest Indian scorer.

SAT was held on January 21, 2017, and was organized by College Board, USA. Admission to all undergraduate programs offered by colleges and universities or the United States are done on the basis of SAT score.

Shubh scored 800 on 800 in the mathematical section and 790 on 800 in evidence-based reading and writing. His score is the second highest score possible in the exam. Shubh’s is the second-highest percentile rank in SAT i.e. 99+ percentile.

Excited after finding out his score, Shubh said that he is looking forward to applying in the best institutes of USA including Harvard, Stanford, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), CalTech, etc. He will also benefit from a substantial scholarship.

He plans to opt for a pure sciences degree in Physics. His plan is to apply for the best universities that will assist him in his plans for higher education and research. He aspires to become a research physicist in astrophysics and space technology development.

SAT scores play a vital role in admission to 75% US-based colleges and universities. The strengths and weaknesses of a student are assessed on the basis of his or her SAT score. As per the reports of the USA UnivQuest research team, fewer than 1500 students across the world have scored 1590 or higher marks in SAT till date.

SAT is conducted in 175 countries and close to two million students appear for the test annually. SAT is offered 7 times in a year.
