National Law University Jodhpur to Reserve 25% Seats for Rajasthan Domicile Students

  • The Higher Education Department of Rajasthan directed National Law University (NLU) Jodhpur to reserve 25% seats for Rajasthan domicile students.
  • The state government has also increased PG seats in government colleges.
National Law University Jodhpur to Reserve 25% Seats for Rajasthan Domicile Students

National Law University Jodhpur(NLU Jodhpur)has considered state government’s decision to reserve 25% seats for students belonging to Rajasthan domicile. The Higher Education Department of Rajasthan has approved the decision in this regard, and the new reservation policy will come into effect in the upcoming academic session. The new reservation policy will help law aspirants in Rajasthan to access quality education in the field of law.

Other Decisions Taken by Rajasthan State Education Department: -

  • The state government has also decided to increase 50% PG seats in government colleges across the state. At present, there are 18,043 PG seats in government colleges, and the same will be increased to 27,093.
  • Out of the 9,050 additional seats added by the state government in PG courses, 6,140 are added to M.A course, 1,030 in M.Sc and 1,880 in M.Com.
  • Good news for the students aspiring to pursue undergraduate courses in government colleges in Rajasthan is that the state government would provide complete fee waiver to the students who score 80% or above marks in Class 12.
  • Apart from Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), the state government is also planning to set up another technical university. A detailed proposal for the same was presented in the assembly.
  • The proposed Bikaner TechnicalUniversity will have 35 affiliated engineering colleges across 15 districts.
  • With a motive to save the electricity, as well as, electricity charges, the state government has installed solar panels on the rooftop of Kota University along with government colleges in Kotputli, Ganganagar, Nasirabad and Ajmer.

The Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) of Rajasthan in Higher Education has witnessed significant growth in the last four years. The existing proportion of girls in higher education is 51.4%.
