NEET-UG 2018: Over 13 Lakh Candidates Register for the Entrance Test

This year, getting admission in an Under Graduate (UG) medical course might be an easy task. Compared to the previous year, the number of students registering for NEET-UG 2018 has almost increased by 2 lakh. This year, over 13.36 lakh students have submitted the online application form for NEET-UG. The competition is very high as there are close to 60,000 MBBS and BDS seats across the country.

Experts have pointed out that the reason for the increase in registration is that more states are opting for NEET scores instead of state-level entrance test. Similarly, the number of Class 12 science students passing this year has been increased. The central government’s decision to make NEET mandatory for pursuing medical courses abroad is also one of the reasons for the rise in the number of applications.
