Cultfest, the annual cultural fest of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur concluded successfully on Sunday.

NIT was able to bag the top prizes on the last day and won the popular dramatics event, while KIIT Bhubaneswar finished runners-up. Last day was filled with many sporting and other informal events like blind date, paper dance and face-off, etc.

Eight amazing teams participated in the theme dance event and the fashion event witnessed overwhelming participation, with the host college walking away with the top prize.

The fest, which began on Friday, witnessed the participation of over 500 students from 15 engineering colleges and the concluding day had students from colleges in Bihar, Bengal, Odisha and host Jharkhand grooving to bhangra beats.

Appreciating the efforts of the organizing committee, college director prof Rambabu Kodali thanked the participating colleges for making the event a success.

"It was a joint effort, with each student of the college chipping in to make the event a success. I want to personally thank everyone who was involved in organizing the fest," said Kodali.

Around 45 academic, cultural, sporting and fashion events were held across three days. A total amount of Rs 7.5 lakh was on offer as prize money.

"Cultfest, 2016 witnessed an overwhelming response from students of various colleges. The event will be organized on a grander scale next year," said NIT spokesperson Deepak Kumar Chourasia.
