NTA Likely to Conduct Board Exams from 2020

NTA is expected to conduct board exams of various states from 2020. NTA is yet to take a final decision in this regard. Recently, JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) confirmed that NTA would conduct JNUEE 2019 entrance examination.

NTA Likely to Conduct Board Exams from 2020

NTA (National Testing Agency) is likely to hold Class 10 & 12 board exams of various states from 2020. NTA was constituted in 2017 to conduct various entrance and competitive exams. NTA has already initiated the process for conducting NEET-UG, JEE Main, CMAT,GPAT, UGC NET. At present, NTA is in talks with the officials of various state boards to finalise the modalities for conducting board exams from 2020.

One of the senior officials of NTA pointed out that the national-level testing agency is interested to hold board exams in various states to improve the quality of the exam system. Even though CBSE has been conducting board exams in a free and fair manner, several issues have been causing difficulty to the board. Therefore, NTA is expected to take the responsibility of conducting board exams. However, nothing has been finalised yet. NTA will officially inform if any such decision is taken, he added.

Recently, JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) confirmed that NTA would conduct JNUEE 2019 entrance examination. There were rumours that NTA may conduct entrance exams of Delhi University. However, Javadekar confirmed that DU admissions for most UG courses would be based on the cutoff.

The objective of NTA is to ensure that exams should be conducted in a transparent and user-friendly manner. If NTA conducts board exams, students can expect a minor to major changes in the exam pattern and mode.
