The Physical research laboratory has invited applications for the Junior Research Fellowships by 20th April 2019. The Junor Research Fellowship (JRF) programme is set to start from July 2019 in Physical Research Laboratory. Ph.D. degrees will be awarded to Junior Research Fellows. The fellowship will conduct researches in the fields of Solar Physics, Astronomy & Astrophysics, Space & Atmospheric Sciences, Atomic, Theoretical Physics, Geosciences, Molecular & Optical Physics, and Planetary Sciences.

The eligibility criteria for this research fellowship is, having a valid score in any one of the exams: NTA-NET and CSIR-NET. The candidates are also required to have a valid GATE score in related subjects of the fellowship specialisations mentioned above and Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) score in Physics.

April 20 is the last date to submit the applications. The interview will be conducted in two parts in two slots which are scheduled to be held on 27th and 28th May 2019 and 17th and 18th June 2019.

The candidates who have their masters degree awarded on or after 2017 and scored 60% or above in the masters level examination from any recognised university will be eligible to apply for the fellowship programme in Physical Research Laboratory. The highest age limit for the programme is 25 years.

As per the official notice, the candidates must go through two semesters of the course work and after then they will be allowed to join the research projects in their choice of field in Physical Research Laboratory.

The registration expenses regarding the Ph.D. tuition fees, examination fees will be borne by the PRL itself. The students will receive Rs.10,000 as academic allowances every year for 5 years.
