NEET 2021 Re-examination for 2 Students

Following Bombay High Court's directions, the NTA (National Testing Agency) moved to the Supreme Court of India with its petition filed for the NEET 2021 re-examination. The case was moved to the apex court on Wednesday i.e. 27th October, where it was adjourned for hearing until 2 PM today. So, the court is to give a hearing today i.e. 28th October for the petition filed by NTA to conduct NEET 2021 again for two students. This has caused a delay in the NEET 2021 result release. As per the speculations, the result will now only be declared once the matter is completely resolved.

Latest Updates

29th Oct 2021 (10:47) - The NTA has not yet declared the release date for NEET 2021 result. However, it is likely to be released today.

28th Oct 2021 (14:32) - The Supreme Court has cleared the way for NTA to declare NEET 2021 result stating that the result for around 16 lakh candidates can not be put on a hold for only two students.

Who Filed the Petition?

The petition was initially filed by NEET candidates Abhishek Shivaji and Vaishnavi Bhopali through advocate Pooja Thorat. The case was earlier taken to the Bombay High Court. However, considering the gravity of the situation, the Bombay HC directed NTA to move to the Supreme Court.

What is the Hearing About?

Vaishnavi Bhopali and Abhishek Shivaji filed the petition to conduct NEET afresh as there were discrepancies with the code or the serial number of their NEET question papers and answer/ OMR sheet (booklet). As per the aspirants, they were handed question papers and answer booklets with the same code and serial number.

When will the NEET 2021 Result be Out?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has informed the SCI that the examination result is ready to be declared. However, due to the discussed petition, there has not been any update on the publication date. This will further delay the admission process for the MBBS, BDS, BSMS, BAMS, BHMS and BUMS courses.
