Union Health Ministry Not in Favour of Postponing NEET PG 2022: IMA

IMA states that the Union Health Ministry refuses to postpone the NEET PG 2022 exams as it will affect the schedule for NEET 2023. Aspirants must wait for the SC decision for final answers to their plea. 

Union Health Ministry Not in Favour of Postponing NEET PG 2022: IMA

The Indian Medical Association wrote to the Union Health Minister,  Mansukh Mandaviya regarding the matter of the NEET PG 2022 postponement. The IMA requested the minister to postpone the NEET PG 2022 exams to May 12, 2022. The Supreme Court hearing on the same matter is scheduled today, May 13, 2022. 

The IMA team has shared that the Union Health Ministry is not willing to extend the dates for the NEET PG 2022. There were detailed discussions on the matter between the IMA team and the health minister. But, the minister denied the request, stating that it would affect the NEET 2023 scheduled to be conducted in January 2023.

Further, IMA had requested the health ministry to delay the NEET PG 2022 exams till June 30, 2022. IMA states that the NEET 2021 counselling dates and NEET PG 2022 are colliding. Aspirants did not have time to prepare for the upcoming NEET PG 2022 exams. The aspirant's plea for a postponement of the NEET PG 2022 exams.

On the matter, the Union Health Ministry comments that many states have requested not to postpone the NEET PG 2022 exams. The NEET 2023 exams are scheduled to be conducted in January 2023. This has been made to streamline the NEET exams on its schedule. If the exams are any further postponed, it will affect the NEET 2023 with just 6 months in hand to complete the entire NEET 2022 process of conducting the exams, results, and the counselling process.

Hence, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has refused to postpone the exams and intends to maintain the schedule for NEET 2022. The decision of the Supreme Court will be the deciding factor in the matter. If the decision is in the favour of IMA, aspirants will have to wait for the new exam schedule for NEET 2022. And if the decision is not in favour, the NEET 2022 exam schedule will proceed as planned, and NEET PG 2022 Admit cards will be issued by May 16, 2022. Aspirants must wait for the decision of the Supreme Court of India for a definitive answer now!
