WBMDFC, the West Bengal Minorities' Development and Finance Corporation, has launched special cloth designing courses for the minority youth of the state. These courses have been started especially for the minority students.
An official of the WBMDFC said that candidates interested in the course can find all the details on the official website wbmdfc.org. They will also find all the information about WBMDFC Sponsored Special Course in the admission of the National Institutes of Fashion Technology (NIFTs) for the academic session of 2020-21. The last date to submit the application is November 30, 2020.
Four courses are being offered by the WBMDFC in collaboration with NIFT. These are:
- Apparel Designing and Fashion Technology (ADFT)
- Clothing Production Technology (CPT)
- Fashion Knitwear and Production Technology (FKPT)
- Fashion Leather Accessories Design (FLAD)
An official pointed out that this year, two new courses of FLAD and ADFT have been added as well. The minority youth include Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, Sikh, Parsee, and Jain. These students are eligible to take admission in the special cloth designing courses.
The admission process for these courses comprises a written test followed by a personal interview. The candidate's age should be between 18 and 35 years in the year of taking admission. The corporation may provide assistance for hostel facility to the candidates from outstation. WBMDFC has been working towards the upliftment of minorities relentlessly by executing various schemes of scholarships and loans. The corporation has been giving a platform to the youth for starting their business.
