CBSE Class 12 Syllabus Revised
- CBSE has revised the curriculum for class 11 and 12 and replace C++ and Java with Python language.
- Various other courses like cyber security, web technology and GST invoices have been included to impart advanced skills.
CBSE studentswill now study Python computer language instead of lengthy C++ or Java programmes. The CBSE Board has introduced the easy and concisePythonlanguage for class 11 and 12 students in order to offer more relevant education. The board will also introduce a new educational language by the name ‘Scratch’ that has been developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The revised curriculum was designed by an expert committee led byIIT DelhiProfessors Smruti R Sarangi and Vikram Goyal. The new curriculum has also been uploaded on the official website ofCBSE. Sarangi talked about thenew curriculumand said that it will focus on basic foundation skills and relevant coursework.

The new language will also help students to create animations without using complex programming codes as thousands of templates for Scratch are available online. TheCBSE Class 12and 11 students will also get an opportunity to learn about the latest technologies, cloud computing, multimedia and other web technologies through therevised curriculum.
The board has reduced the focus on hardware studies and has introduced topics related to digital technology, cyber etiquette, cybersecurity and responsible way to access social media in textbooks. These topics have been introduced to spread awareness regarding theDigital India initiativestarted by the central government.

Amongst others, students who have taken up Informatics Practices course in Class 10 and 12 will also be able to learn through projects related to EMI calculation, creating GST invoices, financial prediction, small business accounting and others. The schools affiliated to the CBSE have been given a year’s time to implement this curriculum.
