CLAT 2022 Official Notification Released; Application Process to Begin from January 1, 2022

The official notification of theCommon Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022has been released today, on December 27, 2021. The conducting body of CLAT, the Consortium of NLUs, has released a press notification that informs candidates about the schedule andimportant dates of CLAT 2022.
TheCLAT 2022 application processwillcommence on January 1, 2022, in the online mode. Candidates interested in appearing for thelaw entrance examwill be able to submit their formsuntil March 31, 2022. Through this exam, they can secure admission to the22 National Law Universities (NLUs)and othercolleges that accept CLAT scoresfor their admission process. Theexam date of CLAT 2022 is May 8, 2022.

Earlier this year, the Consortium had released a notification stating that for the first time ever, there will be two CLAT exams in a year. The exam dates of CLAT 2022 and CLAT 2023 were announced through that notification. While CLAT 2022 will follow a similar exam schedule as the previous years' trends of the exam, CLAT 2023 will be held on December 18, 2022. Thus, CLAT 2023 has been preponed for almost 5 months and its admission schedule will also alter drastically.
All those who are planning to apply for the exam must make sure that theirCLAT 2022 preparationis on point. They must also abide by the deadlines set by the conducting body as no extensions will be given to individual candidates. The application process will be organised in the online mode only and applicants will have to pay a fee of Rs. 4,000 (Rs. 3,500 for candidates belonging to the SC/ ST/ BPL categories) to successfully submit their forms.
