About CLAT 2020 (Seat Allotment Released)

CLAT 2020 seat allotment has released. CLAT 2020 counselling registration dates were October 6-7, 2020. Check the list of CLAT invite list and name of the candidates here.  The results of CLAT 2020 and merit list of CLAT 2020 have been declared on October 5, 2020. The Consortium has allowed candidates to submit their grievances against CLAT 2020 till October 12, 2020 (5 pm). CLAT 2020 was conducted on September 28, 2020. CLAT 2020 final answer key was released on October 3, 2020, and provisional answer key was out on September 28, 2020. CLAT 2020 had activated the DOB correction window on September 24, 2020. Candidates had the option to rectify their date of birth details on the CLAT Application Form until September 26, 2020. The CLAT Admit Card has already been released on September 15, 2020. Candidates will have to log in to the official website of CLAT and download the admit card. CLAT 2020 will be held on September 28, 2020in the centre-based online mode from 2 pm to 4 pm. Earlier the exam was scheduled to be conducted on September 7, 2020, but was postponed due to COVID-19.

CLAT is conducted for candidates seeking admission in undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes such as BA LLB,BBA LLB,B.Com LLB, B.Sc LLB, five-year integrated, and LLM law courses offered at 21 NLUs now as NLU Bangalore conducted its own exam NLAT 2020 and has opted out of the CLAT consortium. Candidates aspiring to get admission in NLUs must check all the details about CLAT 2020 here. Some of the questions asked in CLAT 2020 were wrong, therefore, the Consortium has stated that those questions will be removed. Owing to this, the students who appeared for CLAT UG 2020 will be evaluated on a total of 147 questions and those who gave CLAT PG 2020 will be scored on 119 questions.

CLAT 2020 Conducting Body

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is organising the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2020. It was set up on  August 19, 2017, in order to impart standard legal education in India. The Consortium helps in facilitating better relationship amongst 21 NLUs in India to improve the standards of legal education. The serving President of the Consortium of NLUs is Professor V.Vijayakumar, VC, NLIU.

The counselling fee of the unselected candidates is refunded after the completion of the CLAT Counselling Process. No information regarding the date of the refund day has been released by the Consortium of NLUs, however, it is officially declared that the fee will be fully returned soon after the counselling process.

The National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal conducts its PG admissions for the course of LL.M (Master of Law) through CLAT PG. You will have to appear for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) - PG in order to get admission to LLM at NLU Bhopal.

However, you must be aware that NLU Bhopal does not offer LLM in Maritime Law. LLM is provided at NLU Bhopal in the specialisations of Intellectual Property Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Business Law, Criminal Law, and Human Rights Law.

Dear Student,

The selection of a candidate for NLU admission is purely done based on CLAT result (AILET for NLU, Delhi). If you fulfil the eligibility criteria of CLAT, you can sit for the exam and if you qualify it, you will be allotted a seat in any of the National Law Universities. Scholarships are not provided or fee is not reduced by the NLUs based on the CLAT score.
