After analysing the number of approved admissions till June 28, it can be estimated that the cut-off of DU is likely to drop by 3% for most of the UG courses. Less than one-fourth of the seats at DU have been locked by students after the announcement of first cut-off.

Most of the colleges will remain open for admission after the 2nd cut-off. Admissions will continue from July 1, 2017. It is also being said that most of the colleges will round up admission process after the 2nd cut-off.

Following are some of the DU Admission highlights of 2017 after the first cut-off:

  • A total of 12,600 admissions were approved for morning colleges, whereas, 9,600 candidates had rounded up their online payment process. For evening colleges, a total of 13,000 admissions were approved.
  • The payment window for approving admissions was supposed to close at noon June 29, however, the university is planning to extend it till midnight.
  • A total of 96 students had registered for the BA Programme at Lady Shri Ram College (LSR) against the total intake of 62. LSR also stated that very few seats are left for general category students across all courses. However, a second list will be released for reserved candidates.
  • The cut-off for PGDAV (morning) college will most probably drop by 3% in the 2nd cut-off list.
  • Shri Ram College of Commerce is expected to close admission to its Economics (Hons.) course or will keep it at the same i.e. 97.75%.
  • Kirori Mal College and Sri Venkateswara College closed as few as 450 and 298 admissions respectively.
  • Off-campus colleges such as Kamala Nehru College and Gargi College have closed admission to almost 50% of their total seats. However, Zakir Hussain College received only 139 admissions against the total intake of 1,150.

Although some colleges, like Maitreyi, were able to manage the admissions quite efficiently with the help of volunteers, Kalindi College faced some issues as the number of volunteers to guide students through the process were very few.
