JEE Main Expected Cutoff for January 2020

Analysing the difficulty level of the JEE Main January 2020 papers, the expected cutoff for General Category is 70-100. On the other hand, the expected cut off for reserved category is 40-70.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) for January 2020 ended successfully Yesterday, on January 9, 2020. As per the paper analysis review, while some students found the paper quite moderate, some students also rated the Mathematics and Physica paper as difficult.

After carrying out a paper analysis for JEE Main 2020, experts stated that the expected cut off for JEE Main January 2020 is 90 for the general category. The Academy Head and VP of JEE and NEET, Navin C Joshi said that the students who have acquired around 210 in the JEE Main exam, they can expect a 99 percentile.

Considering the difficulty levels of the exam paper, professor Amit Bannerjee from Roy’s Institute Kolkata stated that among the three papers, Physics and Mathematics consisted of the various difficult question while Chemistry paper was the easiest. He further added that the students who score above 200 can expect a percentile of 90. The expected cutoff for OBC can vary from 40 to 70 for JEE Main 2020.

In a similar context, an engineering professor from Jadavpur University said that analysing the difficulty level of JEE Main 2020 papers, while the cutoff for General Category is expected to range in between 70 to 100, the cutoff for other reserved category is expected to range in between 40 to 70 marks.

For JEE Main 2020 January, around 11 lakh candidate appeared for the Planning, Engineering and Architecture exam. The exam is primarily conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in two different shifts: 9.30-12.30 and 1.30-5.30.
