The Industrial Design Center (IDC) at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is a pioneer design institute that provides a wide range of programs in such areas like industrial Design, Visual Communication, Interaction Design, Animation and Mobility and Vehicle Design. The mission at IDC-IITB is "to develop Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Aptitude among students to become creative problem solvers and to bring about innovation in the manufacturing and communication industry". The center came into existence in 1969 by the Government of India. The institution groomed itself under the guardianship of popular engineering college i.e. IIT Bombay. On the other hand, courses which are offerred by IDC are, Master of Design degree (M.Des) programs in Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Animation Design, Interaction Design & Mobility and Vehicle Design as well as a Ph.D program in Design, conducive environment for research, academics and collaborative projects. The centre interacts with industries and institutions for promotion and awareness of design. These are in the form of organizing seminars, conducting short term courses and workshops.In the area of design practice, IDC offers professional design consultancy and advisory services to industries and other organizations. Several areas have been identified for research. Faculty members along with students and other research and design staff work together on these issues.

Qualifying Integrated Bsc/BA+PG diploma in Animation from WWI, Mumbai will certainly be considered valid for admission into M.Des at IDC, IIT Bombay or the National Institute of Design (NID). Please go through the eligibility criteria for the course, as prescribed by both the institutes.
For M.Des at IIT Bombay, you should have scored not less than 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/PwD) or equivalent in the qualifying exam. You must further have a valid score in CEED.
