Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) basically deals with courses in the field of jewellery designing. Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery, Andheri East Mumbai was established in 2003.The Institute is one of its kind in the country and has been set-up to encourage the youth of today to consider a significant career in the gems and jewellery industry.The objective of this Institute is to provide professionalism and advance knowledge in the field of jewellery. This Institute offers courses in primary as well as advanced jewellery manufacture, diamond grading, jewellery design, refining, casting, model making, setting, rubber mould making, CAM / CAD. In other words, IIGJ is the only full-fledged institute offering courses in all aspects of Jewellery Design and Manufacturing.The Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery, Mumbai (IIGJ) is a project of the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). IIGJ is a non-profit organization committed to excellence in education.This institute is one of its kind in the country and has been set-up to encourage the youth of today to consider a significant career in the gems and jewellery industry.India is now recognized as a global leader in this industry and it is the need of the day that we have young talented minds to take this industry to the next level of growth. A strong foundation of skilled human resources is essential to build a strong presence in the world of jewellery market. The objective of this institute is to provide advanced knowledge and professionalism in the field of jewellery.This Institute has always enjoyed the support of Pioneers of the Gems & Jewellery Industry. Present, guided by its Convenor, Ms Namita Pandya, herself a well-known industrial, this Institute has trained more than 3,000 students since its JPDC days. Some of these students have been selected to work with leading Jewellery designers or have started their own business in the country and abroad. Other academic activities of the Institute include, seminars and workshops on various Jewellery related topics and participation of students in National Level Competitions.
IIGJ assists students in placement whenever there is demand from industry for IIGJ students.Either by calling the industry at the completion of the course or whenever the industry request the institute for the placement.
