Addressing the students in a panel discussion organized by Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Vice-President (Global Advertising Sales), Amazon revealed that they are going to expand their business and are in search of intellectual candidates who are equipped with skills and knowledge to suit their needs. The panel discussion was organized by Industrial Public Relations and EML at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
Speaking on the theme ‘Innovation at Amazon: Expect the Unexpected Career Growth', Mr. Seth Dallaire, Vice-President of Amazon expressed that the skilled and intellectual workforce are the key factors for the expansion of business. Innovative ideas form the crucial path to the advancement of career at Amazon that takes different twists and turns and one can expect the unexpected career growth. Currently, Amazon has openings for different roles in cloud computing and advertising.
He further added that at Amazon, the focus is on customer obsession. In simple terms, everything at Amazon starts with customers and it is a significant principle of the organisation. The company never focuses on competition and is purely customer-service oriented. Satisfaction of the customers is the ultimate achievement that the company receives while carrying out the functions.
Mr. Seth also cited the example of Kindle that enables people to read books digitally. The ultimate motive of the company is to satisfy the customers and provide them with the best services. In the same way, Amazon will also venture into various activities where it can reach more customers. Currently, there are three lakh employees associated with Amazon across the world. And now, there is an opening for 90,000 employees more.
