For the first time in the history of the CBSE board examinations, the Board officials will conduct the term 1 exam, evaluate the answer sheets and upload the marks on the official website on the same day. The controller of the examination of CBSE Sanyam Bhardwaj made this announcement during a virtual meeting with the head of various schools and coordinators of city/districts.
The Central Board of Secondary Education will issue the official term 1 class 10th and 12th board exam answer keys on the official CBSE portal within 30 minutes of students submitting their response sheets. On the same day, it will be the duty of the school principals to ensure all the OMR sheets are corrected and the marks uploaded on the official CBSE portal.
After the schools correct the OMR sheets and upload the marks on the official portal, they must send the OMR sheets to the official address of CBSE for random cross-checking.
The calculation of marks will be done by the school teachers under the careful supervision of external supervisors to be appointed by the Board. Each evaluator will have 1:45 PM till 4 PM to evaluate 30 OMR sheets. An evaluator could or could not be given OMR sheets or his/her relevance. The evaluator has to mark the given OMR sheets by referring to the answer keys, which will be provided to them by the Board by 1 PM. The final marks of these OMR sheets must be uploaded on the official portal between 4 PM and 4:30 PM.
Many school principals and directors of academies have welcomed this move introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The pandemic led to many heartbreaks during last year as CBSE cancelled its class 10th and 12th board examinations. This new format of CBSE board exams and speedy same-day correction process will be heartily welcomed by all, said the Principal of Asian International School Vijaylakshmi Kumar.
