The Ministry of Human Resource Development is likely to conduct the IIT Council Meeting on Tuesday, 21st August 2018. The IIT Council is the highest decision-making body of all the IITs in the country and is headed by the HRD Minister. The last meeting of the IIT council took place at IIT Bombay on 28th April 2018.
The HRD Ministry has not finalized on the IIT Council Meet agenda yet. However, it is likely that the main focus of the meeting would be on JEE Main and JEE Advanced exam pattern and difficulty level. The IITs will be asked to review the JEE pattern and figure out the loopholes leading to a relatively less number of candidates qualifying the examination this year.
