IIM Ahmedabad to Launch PG Diploma in Advanced Business Analytics From 2020

For the candidates aspiring to join one of the sought after premier management institutions, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) must note that a new postgraduate programme will be launched from the academic year, 2020.

IIM Ahmedabad has announced the plans to introduce the Postgraduate Programme in Advanced Business Analytics (PGP-ABA) at the institute from next year. The programme will be conducted for a duration of 16 months.

Professor Errol D’Souza, the Director of IIM Ahmedabad stated that with a growth in the processing powers, there has been a rise in the “pools of unstructured data”, which he stated contain “embedded information” that can be used for the benefit of the society and businesses. He added that the course will allow students to learn how to extract the beneficial information from the pool of unstructured data. Thus, resulting in the better decision-making process and adding value for the stakeholders.

To better understand the course, Business Analytics programme is a course that will help the students to come up with business strategies with the help of the combination of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Computer Programme. The programme will enable the students to use the information gained from data, use computer software to build and structure strategies for the overall growth of businesses and organisations.

This year, various Institutions, including different Indian Institutes of Management across the country have brought forth new courses in Business Analytics and other fields of management. Institutes such as Indian Institutes of Technology have also ventured into the world of management this year, by bringing in various management courses, some in partnerships with other Institutes.
