The annual convocation of Indian Institute of Management, Trichy was held in a grand manner on March 18, 2017. On this occasion, a total number of 108 students were awarded Postgraduate Diplomas in Management (PGDM) and 33 students were awarded Postgraduate Diplomas in Business Management (PGDBM).
The Director of Indian Institute of Management, Trichy revealed that the placement percentage of the institute was good. The institute had witnessed a 56% increase in the highest stipend offered as well as 39% increase in the highest CTC offered during the placement season. He further added that the dedication of faculty and students is the key factor behind this success.
He indicated that the students shall take care of their parents who played a significant role in their success. Delivering the Director’s report, he advised the students to set their own standards and be honest, ethical and responsible managers.
Shivendu Nadkarni, Vice-President of Asia/ Africa Snacks, Kellogg’s was the Guest of Honour. Addressing the students, he cited that success was a journey and not a destination. Moreover, he shared four lessons from his work experience with the graduates.
CEO and Chairman of Pepsico India Private Holdings Limited, Mr. D. Shivakumar advised the students to have multiple capabilities as the world is growing at a fast pace.
Two students were awarded the Director’s Gold Medal for securing the first and second rank in PGPM programme. One student received Canara Bank Gold Medal for securing the third rank in PGPM programme. Punjab National Bank Gold Medal was awarded to the most meritorious girl student in PGPM. The meritorious students of PGDBM also received Director’s Gold Medal and Punjab National Bank Gold Medal.
