Two departments of MITE have received accreditation by the NBA. The Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at MITE are NBA accredited now.
The Mangalore Institute of Technology (MITE), located in Moodabidri, has received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for two more engineering courses that it offers. The Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at the Mangalore Institute of Technology are now accredited by NBA.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the institute had received accreditation by NBA in the year 2018. This results in a total of four departments at MITE to have been accredited by NBA for the Quality Process. The said institute has also received accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and was also certified with ISO 9001:2015 Standards.

The chairman of MITE Moodabidri, Rajesh Chowta, said that receiving accreditation from NBA gives assurance to all the stakeholders of the institute about the commitment they have towards the mission and vision of providing quality education. The students that study in institutions that are NBA accredited are assured about receiving an education that has a balance between professional relevance and high academic quality.
They are also convinced that the demands of the corporate world and job sector are well integrated with the activities, programmes, and processes at the institute. It signifies that the student has made his way into the portals of an institution that has all desirable and essential features of good quality and professional education.
Rajesh Chowta also added that the accreditation process was possible because MITE has developed multiple industry linkages such as MoU with SIEMENS, which enabled them to establish a Centre of Excellence in Digital Design, Digital Manufacturing, and Validation. The formation of Bosch Rexroth Centre of Competence in the field of AUtomation Technologies is another asset of the institute. The MoU with KPIT for Training and Employment in the AUtomotive Domain, the MoU with Carl Zeiss for Industrial Metrology, being the Advanced Partner Institute with the famous Infosys Campus Connect have been some other achievements.

MITE has also made alliances for focusing on global education. The accreditation process considers the practical outcome and results of education. It also pays attention to focus on entrepreneurship and the support provided by the institute for placements as a key factor.
