Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering, Mangalore was established by Mr. Rajesh Chowta under Rajalaxmi Education Trust, Mangalore in 2007. The institute has approval of  All India Council of Technical Education and affiliation of Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The institute is also ISO 9001:2008 certified. The Institute has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SIEMENS for establishment of “Centre of Excellence” at the Institute’s campus. The Institute's mission is to be the leader among the Technical Education Institutes with a great vision & realistic approach, sensitivity towards students and faculty, innovation complemented by practical training and be theoretical and utilitarian at the same time. The Institute strives to deliver quality education to its students, appreciable facilities to the staff and continuously dominate the competitors. The Institute is currently looked after by Rajalaxmi Education Trust.  Located amidst lush greenery and a serene ambience in Moodbidri, the campus spreads over an area of 70 acres in the sylvan surroundings near Mijar en route to Karkala. Integrating modern design, construction technology and eco-friendly techniques, the campus provides the right setting to the students for effective learning. The College library is a Member of INDEST-AICTE Consortium & VTU Consortium for the subscription of Online electronic resources. Under the Membership, Library has subscibed for E-Journals & E-Books.The Library also maintains a good collection of important CDs, 1700 E-Books and 32,880 E-Journals on Engineering & Management
