Karnataka BE/ BTech Admission Process 2025

BTech/ BE admission 2025 Karnataka is purely based on merit and entrance exam scores. More details are elaborated below –

Karnataka B.Tech Admission Procedure through KCET: After the announcement of KCET entrance exam results, KEA releases the merit of students who are eligible to take part in the KCET counselling process. All the students whose names appear on the merit list must attend the counselling as per the schedule. All the students in the merit list will have a rank or merit number based on which they can take part in the KCET counselling process. The KCET merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained by the students in the KCET entrance exam. The percentage secured by students in Class 12 board exams will also be considered while preparing the merit list.

Karnataka B.Tech Admission Procedure through COMEDK UGET: COMEDK UGET is another exam conducted by COMEDK for students aspiring to get admission in private engineering colleges across the state. In the last week of May, COMEDK releases the results of UGET. Rank will be allotted to each student based on his or her score in the entrance exam. All the students who have a valid COMEDK UGET rank are eligible to take part in the COMEDK UGET counselling process.

Karnataka B.Tech Counselling Process 2025

Karnataka B.Tech counselling process through KCET, JEE Main and COMEDK UGET is different. A detailed explanation of B.Tech admissions in Karnataka through KCET and COMEDK UGET can be checked below.

Karnataka B.Tech Counselling Process through KCET

B.Tech counselling process in Karnataka based on KCET is divided into the following stages –

Step 1: Document Verification
The counselling process starts with the verification of documents. The students must be present at the prescribed counselling centre on time on the scheduled dates. KEA will conduct rank-wise certificate verification on different dates. Therefore, the students must check the dates published by KEA properly. The students must carry all the documents mentioned above. At the counselling center, ranks will be announced and the students must report to the verification desk accordingly.

After the document verification, a verification slip will be issued to students along with a Unique ID and Password. The unique ID and password must be used for exercising choices or options.

Step 2: Filling and Locking of Choices
As per the scheduled date, the students must visit the KEA website to fill out the option entry form. After visiting the KEA website, click on the relevant link to log in. Enter the Unique ID and Password, which was issued after certificate verification. The list of colleges and B.Tech specializations will be displayed on the website. The students can choose a maximum number of choices to increase their chances of securing B.Tech admission in Karnataka. Lock the choices to confirm and log out.

Step 3: Seat Allotment
The students will be selected based on merit, KCET rank, and choices filled in the option entry. The students who are selected for admission must take the printout of the seat allotment letter, which will be available on the official website of KEA. The students must log in with a Unique ID and Password and check and download the seat allotment letter.

Take the printout of the seat allotment letter, report to the allotted college, submit the seat allotment letter & other documents, pay the first-year B.Tech fee, and confirm the admission.

Karnataka B.Tech Counselling Process through COMEDK UGET

The COMEDK UGET counselling process is completely different from KCET, and it involves different stages, which will be carried out on a single day. The stages involved in the COMEDK UGET counselling process are –

Step 1: Registration and Document Verification
Visit the COMEDK UGET 2025 official website and click on the counselling registration link. Complete the counselling registration by providing the required details. Upload the needed documents as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities. Upload valid documents only. Authorities will reject any false or forged documents. Visit the official website to check your document verification status. Only after successful document verification, you will be able to take part in the COMEDK UGET counselling process.

Step 2: Choice Filling
After registration, the choice filling window will be open. Provide the names of your preferred college and courses before the deadline.

Step 3: Mock Allotment
Before conducting the official seat allotment round, the authorities will conduct a mock allotment to make you aware of the seat freeze, float, and slide process.

Step 4: Seat Allotment
Based on the choices filled, seats available, and your performance in the COMEDK UGET 2025, the seat allotment result will be released. Log in with your credentials to download your allotment letter.

Step 5: Fee Payment
To confirm your seat, pay the tuition fees. Collect your allotment letter and fee payment receipt. Lastly, visit the allotted college as per the schedule.

After all rounds of main rounds of counselling are over, students who passed the PU Board / 10+2 for the leftover seats would be eligible for an exclusive round of COMEDK counselling 2025 for the remaining seats.

Note: - The above explanation on KCET and COMEDK UGET counselling process does not apply to privately deemed universities (which are not accepting COMEDK UGET or KCET scores) and IIT, NIT, and IISc located in Karnataka.

Karnataka B.Tech Counselling Process through JEE Main 2025

Step 3: Seat Allotment
Students will be assigned seats according to their JEE Main 2025/JEE Advanced 2025 ranks. JoSAA also held two rounds of mock seat allocation. Students who are given seats must pay the admission confirmation fee and show up at the designated institution on the designated dates in order to confirm their admission.
