As per the new collaboration between the two institutes, the students who are studying B.Tech at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal will be now getting direct admission to Ph.D program at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. Earlier, IIT Delhi signed an MoU with IIT Agartala for direct PhD Admission. The students who have attained 8 CGPA at 6th semester of their B.Tech will be allowed to complete part of their project at IIT Delhi. Further, they will be provided admission directly to the Ph.D program without a need of qualifying GATE or any other national level entrance test.
As per the official notification released by IIT Delhi, one of the officials stated that the new scheme will help the NITW students to qualify the PMRF fellowship in order to get admission to PhD program at IIT Delhi. In regards to this, NIT Warangal and IIT Delhi have also signed an MoU. The students who will be visiting IIT Delhi from NIT Warangal will not have to pay academic fees as they are already paying the fees at their parent institution. However, a separate accommodation facility will be provided to the students on a paid basis.
Both the institutes will be exchanging the B.Tech & M.Tech students, research scholars and faculty members. These students will be classified as special exchange students who will be provided with an opportunity to choose the course and participate in research, internship and project work.
