Panjab University has decided to scrap the entrance tests conducted for its undergraduate courses such as BA, BSc, Integrated LLB and BEd. The admission process will now be conducted on Class 12 basis and will begin from 1 August 2020.
Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh will not conduct the entrance tests for admission to its undergraduate courses. Panjab University 2020 admissions will not be conducted based on the merit of candidates in the Class 12 board examinations.
The decision to scrap the Panjab University 2020 Entrance Tests was taken as per the recommendation of a committee up by the university. The decision was taken by the committee because the admissions have already been delayed and the university decided to opt for an alternate process for admissions instead of delaying admissions further by conducting the entrance exams.
Panjab University Admission Dates 2020
Panjab University has now decided the dates for Panjab University admissions. Since the entrance tests have been scrapped, there will be fewer steps in the process. Candidates will have to fill the application form and admissions will be done directly on a merit basis. Check the dates of Panjab University admissions given below.

Entrance Tests Scrapped by Panjab University
Going by the usual format, candidates had to appear for the PU CET exam for BPharma admissions at Panjab University. Earlier, Panjab University had postponed the PU CET (UG) 2020 exam and it was scheduled to be conducted on 4 October.
Similarly, BA LLB and BCom LLB Admissions at Panjab University were done through the PU UGLAW entrance test. PU UGLAW was also scheduled for 4 October but it has also now been scrapped.
The university has also decided to scrap the Aptitude Test conducted for admission to the BA, BEd and BSc Fashion Technology courses conducted by Panjab University. Class 12 merit will now be the sole deciding factor for admission into these courses.
Panjab University has also made an announcement for the students who have already registered for the exams and paid the examination fee. There is no need to worry as the examination fee paid by any student will now be adjusted in their counselling fees.
No decision has been taken about the cancelling of Panjab University postgraduate entrance tests. Students will soon be updated about the same.
