According to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research Delhi, various state-level agricultural universities can fill only 15% of seats in BSc Agriculture courses. The prospectus of ICAR AIEEA UG states that the 15% of seats of state agricultural universities are likely to increase to 20%. Until last year, the State Agricultural Universities offered only 15% of seats through ICAR AIEEA as per the norms of ICAR and the rest of the 85% of seats were filled through the admission policies of the individual state government. This year the percentage of offering seats in state agricultural universities may increase from 15% to 20%.

After the counselling process of ICAR AIEEA 2022, we get the exact picture. In that case, 80% of seats in BSc Agriculture will be offered through various state Agricultural universities. In Punjab, 15% of seats at Punjab Agricultural University are filled through ICAR AIEEA under All India Quota (AIQ) and 85% of seats are filled through the Punjab Agricultural University Common Entrance Test (PAU CET). PAU CET is an entrance exam conducted by Punjab Agricultural University to provide admission to several undergraduate agriculture disciplines.  Candidates, who would like to join in BSc Agriculture at Punjab Agriculture University under AIQ, must take part in the ICAR AIEEA Counselling process.
