Rajasthan PTET 2020 scheduled on August 16, 2020, has been postponed. The entrance exam for B.Ed admission in Rajasthan is expected to be cancelled due to the delay in the admission process and hike in the number of Covid-19 cases.

Will Rajasthan PTET 2020 be Cancelled?

Rajasthan PTET 2020, which is scheduled to be conducted on August 16, 2020, has been postponed. The exam authority has not yet released a new date for the entrance exam. The admit card, which was supposed to be out on August 08, 2020, has also been postponed. Many students are in a dilemma whether Rajasthan PTET 2020 for admission in 2-year/ 4-year B.Ed course be conducted or cancelled this year. More than 4 lakh students registered for the B.Ed entrance exam this year.

Expected Reasons for the Cancellation of Rajasthan PTET 2020

Some of the states like Madhya Pradesh have already cancelled the entrance exam for B.Ed admission, and the admissions are being conducted on the basis of merit. If the state plans to conduct the entrance exam in September, the admissions will be based on entrance test only. However, the admission process will be delayed if the state wants to conduct the entrance exam in September. In order to save time for the admission process, the entrance exam may be cancelled this year.

On the other hand, the number of Covid-19 cases has been increasing in the state, and it is not safe to hold the entrance test for more than 4 lakh students.

Revised B.Ed Admission Process If Rajasthan PTET 2020 is Cancelled

If Rajasthan PTET 2020 is cancelled, the exam authority may conduct the admission process based on merit, i.e., marks scored by the candidates in UG degree. The marks scored in major subjects shall be taken into consideration. For four-year B.Ed course, marks scored in major subjects of Class 12th will be taken into consideration.
