B.Ed Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the BEd admission process 2026 will vary from college to college. The details of the B.Ed selection process have been described below.

B.Ed Admission through Entrance Exams

To secure BEd admission to colleges through entrance exams, you have to apply for the required entrance test and clear the cutoff. Those who will pass the exam are sent counselling invites by the accepting colleges. The B.Ed counselling process in many states is conducted online and includes stages such as registration, choice filling, document verification, seat allotment, etc. You have to participate in each round and complete all the formalities within the deadline to secure a seat. Students can also apply for the next round of counselling if they are not happy with their seats. However, there are certain guidelines that you have to follow to apply for the next round of counselling.

BEd Direct Admission through Merit

The B.Ed colleges that offer BEd direct admission, which is based on merit, follow a different selection approach. Students have to apply directly to the college to which they seek admission and provide all the academic details requested. The college prepares a merit list based on the marks scored by applicants in their qualifying degree (bachelor’s or master’s degree), and preference is given to those with a higher score. Some colleges also conduct a GD (Group Discussion) or PI (Personal Interview), in which participants are asked about their goals, ambitions, and reasons for interest in the degree programme. The final merit list is released for BEd direct admission after taking into consideration all the points.

Yes, if you have 65% in 12th class from a commerce background, this is the only eligibility that LPU asks for. If I talk about fees, LPU costs for B.Com are around 80,000-1,20,000 yearly. However, the final fee becomes less if you get a scholarship based on your 12th grade or through LPUNEST. The last date to apply is the 20th of June, so it is better to apply early and confirm your seat on time.
