Bachelors of Education is a popular course, which is opted by lakhs of students every year to pursue their career as a Teacher. B.Ed course is the gateway for the candidates to appear for exams such as CTET, UPTET, AP TET, TNTET etc. At the same time, only the candidates with B.Ed degree are allowed to appear for the Teacher Recruitment Test conducted by various states. There are different subject combinations or methodologies in B.Ed. The admission process for B.Ed differs from one state to another. While some states conduct their own entrance exams for B.Ed, certain states conduct merit-based admission. The duration of B.Ed course is two years, and the candidates can pursue this course only after attaining a Bachelor's degree. The 2020 admission process for B.Ed course has been delayed in various states due to the Covid-19 scare. The admission process for B.Ed course in various states is expected to begin in August. Before moving on to the different aspects of B.Ed Admission 2020, it is very important for the aspirants to learn about the complete eligibility criteria for admission. According to the NCTE rules, the eligibility criteria for the B.Ed course is same across all the states, universities and colleges. However, there may be a difference in the subject combinations offered in B.Ed by these institutes.
Eligibility Rule 1: The candidate must have pursued a Bachelors degree in BA (Bachelors of Arts)/ B.Sc (Bachelors of Science)/ or an equivalent from a recognised institute.
Eligibility Rule 2: The candidate must have acquired a minimum aggregate of 50% with all the subjects put together in the qualifying degree.
Eligibility Rule 3: The candidates who have pursued graduation in Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech) with 55% minimum aggregate are also eligible to apply for admission.
Eligibility Rule 4: The candidate must be of a minimum age of 19 years at the time of applying.

B.Ed Application Form through Entrance Exam
Candidates aspiring to get admission through an entrance exam, he/ she must fill the application form for the entrance exam first. The candidates will have to visit the official website of the respective entrance exam and complete the registration process. The candidates must note that filling the application form for the entrance exam does not guarantee admission in B.Ed course. The candidates will have t clear the exam with minimum qualifying marks. B.Ed Application Form for Merit-Based Admissions
Some states conduct a merit-based admission process for B.Ed course instead of the entrance exam. Such candidates will have to fill an online application form as per the process specified by the respective authority. While filling the application form, the candidates will have to upload his/ her degree mark sheet, photograph and signature. The candidates will have to pay the specified application fee to take part in the admission process.

B.Ed Admission Based on State Level Entrance Exam
Some of the institutes take admission to B.Ed program on the basis of state-level entrance exams such as MP Pre B.Ed, Bihar B.Ed CET, etc. The candidates will have to apply for and qualify the test. On qualifying, the candidates will be called for the counselling process where they will be allotted seats for admission on the basis of their rank in the test. B.Ed Admission Based on Institute Level Entrance Exam
Some institute conducts their own entrance exam to shortlist the aspirants for admission to B.Ed program such as IGNOU B.Ed, Gauhati University B.Ed Entrance Test (GUBEDCET), etc. The candidates will have to appear for the written test followed by a personal interview to earn the seats for admission to B.Ed program. B.Ed Admission Based on Merit
Some colleges also conduct direct admission to B.Ed program on the basis of merit obtained by the candidate in the qualifying degree exam. The candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria will have to visit the campus, fill the admission form, submit the documents and pay the admission fee to complete the admission.
