Seven Students from ONGC Super 30 Selected for IITs
Seven students from the ONGC super 30 situated in Guwahati got selected in IITs in 2018. The ONGC Super 30 is an institute where 30 brilliant underprivileged students are trained to appear for the most difficult engineering exams.
Popularly known as ONGC Super 30, located Sivasagar in Assam, were elated when seven students from their institute were selected to study in the well known Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Dipankar Saikia who is the ONGC public relation official informed that from the batch of 30 students, seven got admission in IIT, six into NIT Silchar, another six in Assam Engineering College (AEC), one in IIT Gwalior, one in IIEST Kolkata, one in Jorhat Engineering College, three in Tezpur University & rest of the students in various other colleges.
The seven lucky students who got the privilege to study in IITs are:
- Avijit Kumar Das (IIT Bhubaneswar)
- Babul Pegu (IIT Kharagpur)
- Biplob Das (IIT Jodhpur)
- Hemanga Sonowal (IIT Kanpur)
- Rajesh Sarkar (IIT Guwahati)
- Sandip Kumar Roy (IIT Guwahati)
- Trinayan Das (IIT Guwahati)
ONGC Super 30 in association with Center for Social Responsibility & Leadership (CSRL) was started in 2013 at Sivasagar, Assam, where 30 brilliant students from economically underprivileged families are selected and are given 11 months free residential training for IIT-JEE & other engineering examinations.
Over the past years, a large number of students have been selected in IITs and the well-known engineering institutes/ universities from ONGC Super 30.

2017- 18 is the fourth batch organized by ONGC Super 30. The fourth batch commenced in July 2017 and the coaching continued till 2018 JEE Advanced. The students for the Super 30 are selected from various school through comprehensive exams both written & oral and through interviews.
The selected students are taken under the ambit of ONGC Super 30 and are provided with food, medical care and lodging and the teachers take regular tests in order to keep a regular check on their knowledge.

Suresh D Maske, Executive Director-cum-Asset Manager congratulated the selected students and appreciated the efforts of ONGC Super 30 for supporting the underprivileged students and helping them crack one of the biggest entrance examinations of India.
